SBI PO Recruitment 2025: At a Glance

SBI PO Recruitment 2025: Changes in This Year Recruitment Process
This year, SBI has introduced several changes in the recruitment process for Probationary Officers:
1. Increased Salary: The basic pay has been increased to ₹48,480. With other allowances, the initial monthly salary will range between ₹84,000 and ₹85,000.
2. Sectional Cut-Off Marks: From this year, sectional cut-off marks have been introduced for each section, unlike previous years when the cut-off was based on total marks.
3.Changes in Preliminary Exam: The number of questions in the English section has been increased to 40, while Reasoning and Quantitative sections now have 30 questions each to ensure balance and fairness.
4. Changes in Main Exam: The number of objective questions has been increased to 170 from 150. However, it is not yet clear whether there will be changes in descriptive questions.
SBI PO Recruitment 2025: Important Dates
The recruitment notification was published on December 26, 2024.
– Online registration and application submission began on December 27, 2024.
– The last date for application submission is January 16, 2025, including payment of the application fee.
– Preliminary exams will be held on March 8 and March 15, 2025. Admit cards can be downloaded by the end of February.
– The dates for the Main Exam are yet to be officially announced but are expected to be in April or May 2025.
SBI PO Recruitment 2025: Total Vacancies
This year, SBI has announced 600 vacancies for the post of Probationary Officer. Reservation benefits will be provided to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) as per government rules. Out of the 600 vacancies:
– 87 seatsare reserved for SC,
– 57 seats for ST,
– 158 seats for OBC,
– 240 seats are unreserved,
– and 58 seats for EWS.
It is worth noting that this year’s number of vacancies has significantly decreased compared to previous years. In 2022 and 2023, the number of vacancies was 1,673 and 2,000 respectively, while in 2021, a total of 2,056 candidates were recruited.

Candidates must pay the application fee within the specified period set by the bank: – General category candidates: ₹700. For SC, ST, and Persons with Disabilities (PWD) candidates, the fee is waived. The fee can be paid online via Internet Banking or other payment gateways. To apply for the mentioned posts, candidates must have a graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
